One Phone, One Number

Summary:

We want to talk to someone. We don’t want to find out, where he is.

Calling someone should be easy. Tell your phone who you want to speak to and it should connect you to him. That’s how it should be.

There are attempts like GrandCentral that let you consolidate all your numbers into one. But the problem is: When someone is calling, every phone rings. Well, you can set rules to redirect calls depending on the caller. But the thing is: Your rules never know, where you truly are or what you truly want. And it only works for you. If you use GrandCentral, it’s only good for others to call you. Not for you, to call others.

Maybe one day, everyone just gets one mobile phone at the age of [your desired age] and that’s it for the rest of their lives.

About What We Need

This is a place where I collect thoughts on gadgets, services and design that would simplify and improve daily life. Some ideas are new, some are already known. But none are completely realized, yet. Let these thoughts be an inspiration for everyone.
